James To Sheila - Save Me And Shock Natalie.

James is in the Sauna room with Adam and Sheila - he has proposed to Sheila that she and Ryan agree to vote out Sharon.

James says that he will be able to go after Natalie more than Sharon ever will and he talks about how Natalie has been acting like she has won this game already - Sheila appears to agree - saying she has noticed how Natalie has been saying she doesn't think Sheila should win.

Who knows if this little plan of James has a snowballs chance in hell. Adam seems completely open to it - he just keeps saying he can't say much because he is HoH.

I really really doubt that Ryan will go along with all of this - he has been working on Sharon and is tighter with Natalie than Adam and maybe even Sheila.

James Discretely Stirring the Pot

Although Adam has offered to campaign for him, James says he has accepted the fact that he's going to sequester because he'll never get Sheila and Natalie's votes. Instead, he's quietly pointing out some truths that the other boys have ignored. Among other things, he's told both Adam and Ryan that they're now going to be outnumbered, especially in the next HOH competition. He also advised Adam to divide them by getting Natalie to say more derogatory things about Sheila.

Finally, somebody is saying the things we've been chatting about for weeks.

It's Official - James Up On the Block Again!

Ryan used the POV to take down Sheila, and Adam put James up. Afterwards, James joked to Natalie that she had a "50% chance" of being put up. "I was sweating bullets", she replied.

Why Are They Given So Little Booze?

With few exceptions, the Showtime broadcasts this season have been a bore. Half the house ends up in bed within the first hour, leaving the other half to just rehash the same "us 3 to the end" conversations they've had all day.

The exceptions to this rule are the nights they're allowed a little alcohol. "Little" is the key word here. They're rarely given more than one beer per person, or two bottles of wine to split with the whole house. Isn't that like one glass per person (I'm not a wine drinker so I have no clue)?

Yet this little bit of drink has helped them break away from game talk and actually have (somewhat) real conversations. Last night (videos below) was a perfect example. They all had a good time, and a little ribbing resulted in laughter instead of the usual running up to the HOH room to complain how evil James is.

I'm not saying that they should give them unlimited booze, as there are limits on what personal details should be revealed on Showtime. But let them have a little fun!

OMG Drama!

Just when you think nothing is going to happen, the shit hits the fan. Natalie made a flippant remark that if she lost to Sheila, she'd deserve to be sent home. James told Sheila, and it has led to her telling Adam to take Sharon down instead of her...and James better be sent home unanimously!

Of course, now Adam and Natalie think Sheila's working with Sharon and James. What good would that do any of them? James has, though promised her that he's going to tell everybody what he thinks of them before he leaves.

Oh, and an update on Natalie's ignorance - she doesn't know a vasectomy is. Or a virtue, which she thinks is a "superhuman power". She also had never heard of the Taj Mahal, the crusades, or the holy grail.

Double Eviction Wednesday? Season Ends April 22nd?

I have absolutely no inside info but I have speculated on my audio podcasts as to the possibility of a double eviction show on Wednesday.

Someone said to me that Julie would have mentioned it if there was one so I went looking to see what I wrote last year around this time. Here is a quote from this entry the day before the double eviction show for season 8:

Some people ponder a double eviction night tomorrow and others keep ‘poo pooing’ it.

So it wasn't hinted at by the production staff last year either (I am re-checking the actual shows to see - since that comment may have been about the HGs talking - not Julie). The show also ended 12 days after that eviction show. If they follow the was things went last season - they the show will end 14 days from Tuesday.

UPDATE: I have reviewed the tape (ok the dvr)! I still have season 8 saved on my DVR and I went back to the 8/30 show and Julie did tease that the next eviction would be a double. So maybe this Wednesday will be a normal eviction.

James Warns Sharon To Not Trust Ryan

It's been a pretty uneventful day, outside of my earlier report regarding Natalie's ignorance and her obsession with Matt (which is still going on this very moment). James and Sheila actually spent some time quizzing each other on "favorites".

James and Sharon are currently in the hot tub, and she is informing him on how Natalie and Sheila call him the last "evil doer". His plan is to stir the pot in the jury house by going right to and telling him that Nat's been saying she's never blow him. Sharon informed him of her deal with Ryan, and James is telling her he thinks she's being set up to go next week.

One thing about the POV that has been brought up a few times is that BB allowed the others to help Ryan with his answers. If true, I guess it really was James versus the house.

Twelve Hours Later, Natalie Is Still Complaining About the Matt Story

Natalie's silliness continues, as she's obsessed with two topics:

1. The term "cup of Joe". It's funny how a coffee girl has never heard this line. Since she heard this term this morning, she's constantly questioned why it's "Joe". "Why is it not a cup of Nat or a cup of Adam?"

2. Matt's "lie" about their late-night activities. Tune into the feeds at any given moment since last night and you're bound to hear her complaining. This is why Matt was evicted - God is punishing him for "lying". "Dont talk to me, you liar. I'm glad you left, and thats called karma. God was watching...you have to be holy. That's why it cost Matty the game. God was having no part of it. Chelsia went down, too, because of God. You judge and you shall be judged by others." But according to Nat's rules, Matt and everybody else can still be saved. "If you repent and say you don't mean it you will be forgiven."

Oh, and ladies, both Sheila and Natalie believe that every woman should get implants because it will help you feel better about yourself.

Liar Liar: Natalie Again Denies Oral Treats

After I shut down my laptop last night, the (somewhat) drunken talk last night centered around the allegations of Natalie's late night escapades with Matt. Ryan and Adam gave her grief for close to a half hour, but Natalie never broke down. Of course, silly Sheila believes Nat's story.

It should also be noted that late last night, Natalie told Sheila that she's heard voices in her head since the age of 5 or 6 that she's "the chosen one". Oh boy. Oh, and when Sheila suggested naming the guinea pigs John and Yoko, Natalie asked who is Yoko.

Sharon and Ryan The Newest Alliance?

I don't hold out a lot of hope of this actually happening, as these people all talk like they're going to work together before running off to their friends to report on everything they've heard. Right now, though, they've agreed to work together...and Sharon is doing a great job at pointing out all of Natalie's inconsistencies.

Ryan won POV, so James will be leaving this Wednesday (barring some freak occurrence).

It started around 12:15pm today and is still going on.

If James doesn't win it he will probably go home.

If he does he has promised not to use it - meaning Sharon should be the one going home.

Poor Adam

Poor Adam has had to endure Sheila for the last half hour (probably longer, actually). She keeps saying, “I’m not mad, I get it”, but then in the next breath keeps going on about how hurt she is by the nomination.

Here’s some of the garbage he’s had to endure:

“What were you thinking about when you didn't put my key in?”

“He knows if any of us win he better shut his trap. He's not gonna get a vote from me.”

“Did James ask you to put me and Sharon up?”

“I knew why you did it, but it's really risky. It just is. I'm not mad at you. I just didn't think you would put me on the block. I wouldn't have done it. If I had won HOH, it would have been her and him. What good would it do to be angry at you? I'm here now. You know what would be the sweetest victory? If I won POV. He's tortured me. He called me an old bag. He said everyone wants me out and that I haven't done shit in this game.”

“He’s like Batman or Superman. He has super frickin' powers. How does he get voted out and then come jump out of a box with a pink mohawk. Who does that?”

“I was loud while talking to Josh because I wanted James to hear it. I’m not stupid. I knew he'd hear it. If I didn't want James to hear I would've taken him somewhere else. And it motivated his butt to win POV didn't it? It's a vicious cycle with him. He knows no one likes him but he still wants to be here.”

“That's the sorta thing that make me sick. Not only do you [James] disrespect me and I'm old enough to be you mother, you also want to take out everyone who needs the money. That's disgusting.”

“He’s the one that tried to kiss me. He's showing his ass to me and getting nude in front of me. I've seen it. I've seen it in his eyes. I wouldn't make out with him. Are you kidding me? I'm not frickin' desperate. I wouldn't do that. He's 4 years older than my son and my son's more mature.”

Natalie is involved in some of this conversation, but eventually wanders off to bitch to Ryan. She’s completely believing Adam’s story about the diary room working on him to keep James, and wants to leave the BB house if they're going to show favoritism. She demands that BB be on her side now and tailored for her. “If James wins POV, I’m hitting the red button and executing myself.”

Now she’s in the sauna saying that God is telling her that she’s going to win POV. Oh yeah, and they're all going to have to have dreams tonight that the good guys win tomorrow. "God will forgive you, Adam, and redeem you tomorrow." Oh yeah, and more talk about the number nine. Ugh!

Adam - "I fucked up."

After spending the last two hours defending his move, Adam now believes he made a mistake. Natalie has jokingly pretended she wants to kill him, Sheila alternates between yelling and telling him she gets it, and Ryan is still angry.

Now Sharon is sitting in the hot tub, and Adam just asked if he screwed up. She babbles for awhile without really answering the question, and Adam finally decides he made the wrong move.

I don't think he did, but I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow with the veto. I'm just happy somebody finally made a dramatic move. This should be good television on Sunday.

Big Brother Manipulation Again?

Today was the first blatant case of Big Brother manipulation that I have witnessed this season.

As I watched James pleading his case earlier today he seemed to be losing the battle, Natalie and Ryan were tag teaming James in the HoH room in front of Adam.

Ryan was either called to the diary room or left in disgust (we don't know because the feeds were blocked he was just gone when they returned).

Shortly after that James broke down in tears, saying he had been broken, Natalie gave him a hug and Adam said he was safe and would not go up. Right then Natalie was called to the Diary Room which left James and Adam alone to continue talking.

James continued to talk to Adam and they solidify their bond.

Then Adam was apparently called to the Diary Room and he was not allowed to leave until the other HGs were locked outside - preventing him from talking to Ryan and Natalie any more.

I did not witness Ryan or Adam being called to the Diary Room but the feeds were getting shut down at various points during all these goings-ons.

Now Adam has said that Big Brother would not let him out of the Diary Room before nominations and they kept telling him, "Its best for you, its best for you." (To not nominate James - this is what Adam says he was being told by the production staff)

They are now concerned that the POV will be tailored for James - they seem to feel that the last one was slanted to help James - but I am not sure how.

Sharon and Sheila's Up - and Ryan's Pissed!

Ryan thinks he's being thrown under the bus, and is raging at both James and Adam. Sheila's nowhere to be found. Oh wait, she's in her bedroom pouting.

Oh boy, she just said if that's what it takes "I would have been up there sucking up and brown-nosing ...I'm not going to forgive him for this."

James told Ryan to just win POV and take one of them off. Natalie is walking around saying, "it's mine. It's mine."

Edit: As you may imagine, Sheila is livid. But I don't really get why they're all so pissed. Adam is not saving James; he's merely ensuring that everybody plays hard in the POV. Look how many times only a couple of people have taken that contest seriously. If anybody besides James wins, he's going to be up and he'll be out.

Edit 2: Ryan is once again confronting Adam, and Adam is again explaining exactly what I stated above. "You threw us under the bus, man." No, Ryan, you're not on the block.

Natalie Performs For the Cameras

In this clip, Natalie goes from picture to picture and tells us what she thinks of each competitor. Call me a cynic, but I have a feeling this is done for only one reason - TV time.

James Asks To Be "Back Doored" - Cries - Adam Won't Nominate.

James has asked Adam to not nominate him and then Back Door him - he says he saved Ryan weeks ago and kept his word to Adam.

I missed his plea to Adam but for at least a moment it seemed to convince Adam.

Then Ryan got word of it and started telling Adam why it was a bad idea. He then calls Natalie up to the HoH and they proceed with a non stop assault on Adam's (and my) senses.

Ryan talks logic - how if Ryan wins the POV then he will save Sharon and one of them will go home. Which is very true.

Natalie uses her stupid numbers theories and bible quotes about 'evil people' and even goes so far as to say that Jame's eyes are dark brown because he is 'full of shit' (lol).

The one chink in Ryan's argument is that he says if Adam doesn't nominate James that he might win the POV - but when Adam says even if he nominates him he might win the POV they say he won't.

As I type Adam seems to be back on board not to nominate Sheila (Sheila is now in the HoH too).

Adam had one other point - Matt tried to throw Adam 'under the bus' by telling James he (Matt) voted for him to come back in the house when in reality it was Adam. Natalies reply to that is that Matt is no longer in the house.

Adam says that if he doesn't nominate James it will make everyone else play harder. Now Natalie says if she doesn't nominate James she will not play for the POV. Sheila tells him to do what he has to to.

I must admit I love how Adam likes to piss the house off.

My gut still thinks it will be Sharon and James but I will laugh if it isn't.

Update: James came back up - alone with Adam - seemed to be persuading Adam - then Natalie comes up and blocks his efforts and now Ryan has come up as well. Ryan and Natalie together are a lethal combination - I thought if James had the last word with Adam he might be ok - but with Ryan and Natalie in there now I am thinking it is looking like James will end up nominated. But they are still talking.

Second Update: Trivia on the feeds. Nomination process most likely is beginning. With the way things were when the feeds cut away - I would expect James to be up against Sharon.

Third Update: False alarm - feeds are back and Ryan has left the room. But they are still discussing nominations. Natalie says she won't trust James much like she would not trust a boyfriend that cheated on her. James points out he is talking to James, whom he has never 'cheated on.' Not her.

Fourth Update - James breaks down and says they have managed to isolate him. Natalie is called to the Diary Room (producer timing?). Now Adam starts tearing up too. They both end up embracing and Adam says he is not going up on the block. ROFL - I never woulda seem this.



Fifth and final (for this post) Update: What a WILD WILD turn of events. Adam and James hugging - both crying. Adam has said 'F***K the house.' and they are sticking together to the end. However Adam may still put up James if someone else wins the POV. I am not sure on this point. However it will still be an interesting nomination ceremony now.

Food Comp!

So, the producers allowed us to watch bits and pieces of today's food competition. They had to use mashed potatoes and gravy to create "rivers" that would pour into buckets that indicated various food groups (and other treats). While they didn't win fruits and vegetables, they did manage to do what was required to receive beer, soda, dairy products, eggs, meat, fish, bread, pasta, a grill, and some outdoor toys.

I have a feeling that after the boredom of last week, and Adam's victory last night, the producers realized that they need to spice things up a bit. I doubt they'll be limited to a single beer apiece this week.

Who Will Win Big Brother 9?

I set up a poll last night and I am very surprised to see that the majority of those voting feel like James will win BB9.

I am putting my money on Ryan - then Adam.

I just don't think James can continue dodging bullets. If either Ryan or Adam makes the final two I would expect them to win.

The Things I Do. The Things James Has Done.

So by now most of you know that James has a bit of a sordid past. I had seen a video clip of him receiving oral affection from another guy but last night as I was digging around for that link to send into the Ron and Fez radio show that I listen to religiously (Ron and Fez 12-3!!). I came across a new clip from the same video series.

I swear - the things I do when researching for Big Brother info!

Maybe it is just me - but I was able to still look at James without thinking 'gay' knowing what I had known after seeing the first clip.

But after seeing the second I really have to wonder. Do you think he was just 'gay for pay' as some have said or does he swing both ways even when the cameras are off?

No April Fools - No Jury House

Looks like the April Fools stuff was just for our entertainment. None of it was shown Tuesday or Wednesday.

As for the Jury House. Last year we barely got to see it - looks like this year it will be the same. No sign of Matt since he walked out the door. I was looking forward to at least a little video of Matt and Chelsia hanging out.

Sheila, Sharon , James

Adam and Ryan were outside talking. They feel extremely safe now. They think they have at least two weeks minimum of safety.

I had been wondering who might be the first to go of the alliance between Natalie, Ryan, Sheila and Adam - it appear that that person is Sheila.

Ryan said that all they have to do is pick between three people and they are fine. Then he simply said, "Sheila, Sharon , James." I'm sure Sheila doesn't realize her days are numbered.

While she is most likely safe this week, next week she will most likely be on the block - either against James or Sharon - or Against one of her alliance members if James or Sharon is HoH.

The only thing I see that might happen next week that would shorten potential Sheila drama is the chance of a short week.

It is very possible that next week could be a 'double eviction' week.

More on that in another post - just remember there is a good possibility that there could be two evictees next Wednesday. The current number of HGs is six. Last season when it was at six Eric and Jessica were evicted on the same night.

Sheila Believes Josh's Story?

I should not have turned off the feeds to watch South Park.

A few days ago, Josh concocted an elaborate story about Neil that he was going to use to try to get Sheila's vote. According to Jokers Updates,I guess he actually went through with it shortly before the show tonight:

Sheila talking to Sharon in the salon, tells her that Neil is Josh's real boyfriend and that they have a son named Chase (the story he was planning to tell right after Julie said he had been evicted). Says she can't tell anyone else. Sheila says he told me that before he left. Sharon says why wouldn't he tell me, Sheila says that maybe he didn't want them to be more of a target. Sheila says that's why she was crying.

Said Chase is not his lover, he is his son. Sheila says she asked Josh why, why didn't you tell us this before. Says Josh said he did this show for Neil and their son.

Sheila said she told Josh if he had told her this earlier she would've figured out a way to keep him in the house.

Sheila said she is the one person he could've trusted, because she is a single mom. Says why would he make that up.

James Catches Sheila In Another Lie

Sheila is once again defending herself about not winning anything by talking about how Evel Dick let his daughter do all the work last year. She catches herself after stating how Dannielle won seven POV's by trying to say "that's what she heard", but James catches on and smirks.

Dammit, Adam!

My two favorite players (James and my girl Chelsia) have now lost crucial HOH competitions to Adam on the last question. The first person (Chelsia) was evicted that week. Will James suffer that same fate? Probably.


Just think how different this game would be if Chelsia had answered that last question. Sheila and/or Natalie would probably be (thankfully) out of the house, but more importantly we'd have more action. There'd be no need for hours and hours of silly card games, that's for sure.

James Thinks He Will Be Nominated.

Hi, I'm Mr. Obvious. Right now 'Team Christ' is gloating over their win and Natalie is revealing that she had a dream about this last night.

Sharon has told James she didn't throw the HoH - initially I thought she might have too - but look at it this way - if James wins the POV - she will be going home. The only way to be sure she wouldn't would have been by her winning the HoH competition herself.

Sheila and Natalie have both thanked Adam for another week of 'ease.'

Ok, I need another break. Natalie's victory chattiness is starting to hurt my head.

Big Brother - Season 9, Episode 23 Recap

Our weeklong national nightmare will be over in less than an hour, as Natalie’s reign of terror ends. Who will be evicted – Josh or Sharon? More importantly, who will be the next HOH?

So after we see last night’s episode truncated into a tight 60 second spot (and Julie once again repeating the same highlights), we begin with the reactions to the veto meeting. Sharon is pretty confident that she’s staying, but admits it’s going to be a tough last few days being up with her partner. Sheila agrees because they’ve become such good friends, and have bonded emotionally.

At the same time, Josh is also confident, as he claims he has James and Ryan’s votes. Natalie has promised that if it ends in a tie, she’d vote in his favor. “I’m hoping that he can just get the votes himself so I don’t have to be someone’s executioner.” (Ooh, that’s a pretty big word for our Natalie.)

In the bathroom, Natalie tells Josh that she does not want to have to break a tie…and repeats the executioner line. Josh now has some doubts that she would even keep her word if that situation plays out, so he begins to work on Adam by playing up the fact that he’s miserable on slop. “This better be convincing”, he says before breaking into fake tears as Adam walks in. He’s really not good at acting, but Adam gives him an encouraging hug. “Cry it out if you need too,” he tells him. Josh thinks he’s playing this role so well he should be hired as a soap actor. Um, no…he stinks, which is even more apparent as he rolls his eyes when Adam gets up to grab him a tissue.

“I just want to stay. I don’t want to campaign. So what do you do? You have to throw somebody under the bus, and I don’t want to do that.” Adam wipes off a little snot on Josh’s nose, and tells Josh that it’s just as hard for him as it is for those on the block. “It sounds like you’ve all decided already to keep Sharon anyway,” Josh replies. Adam claims that he’ll give him a vote.

Natalie is not outside in the hot tub with James and Josh, and wants reassurance that if she keeps Josh that they won’t come after her. James is non-committal, but says they’ll talk if the situation arises. Natalie then goes up to tell Sharon that Josh is making deals to save himself, but that she wants to keep her. Here’s what I don’t get – why can’t people try to save themselves? Why should Sharon’s feeling be hurt over this? They may have been partners, but at the end of the day they’re both trying to win the money.

To make matters worse (at least for us viewing at home), Natalie decides to bring Sheila into the conversation. Sharon meets her on the steps and tells her, “James and Josh are trying to get me out of here.” When she gets into the HOH, they fill her in that the two are trying to get Ryan and Adam to flip their votes. Sheila, as expected, is over the top in her fury. “Oh my God. He’s sneaky. I can’t believe he would do this to her…that’s not right.”

Natalie now says that if it’s a tie, she’s keeping Sharon. Dig this great Natalie quote – “if I want to keep the girl power together, I need to go work Adam and Ryan and make sure they vote out Joshuah.” Women’s lib, with an assist from the boys?

Ryan is brought in first by Natalie. “Joshuah is going to tell us anything we want to hear. That’s the only thing that scares me.” Ryan points out that they are safe if Josh stays. If Sharon makes HOH, this may not be true…at least for him. Natalie wants Josh to feel like he’s safe, and then “bam”. “Sharon just worries me, man. I know if I can’t trust her.”

Sharon asks Natalie how their conversation went, and Natalie confides that Ryan doesn’t know if he can trust her. Sharon doesn’t get it, but Ryan walks in at that very moment. “I’ve never been gunning for you”, says Sharon. “I’ve never been after you. Josh and James, you know they’re gunning for you…I know if I leave, you are all fucked.”

Baller’s up next, but first we see Sharon repeating that she’s not after him. Suddenly, Ryan sees her as a “very trustworthy person”. God, these people can’t keep an opinion for more than five minutes. As usual, Adam just lies around and listens, adding little more than a “yep”. Ryan joins them, and is now completely on board. Natalie is ecstatic.

James and Josh still believe that Josh is going to survive. “That is unreal”, says James. “This is definitely the best possible scenario.” Acting a tad cocky (as usual), Josh says it’s time for Sharon to go because he’s done babysitting her. They both agree that she’s going to be blindsided by this. Well, not really.

After commercials, we head to the living room for the typical nonsense. Sheila gets the first question, as Julie asks a convoluted question tying in her fight with James and his later “words of encouragement”. Suddenly, she’s all complimentary about him. “He’s highly intelligent, and he’s playing a smart game. And it was some really good advice.”

Obviously, we move on to James, and his reasoning for calling out Sheila at the veto meeting. He babbles about how she wasn’t true when she pumped him, so he wanted her to see that he was true about wanting her to succeed in the game. Does that make sense to you? Not me.

Adam tells Julie that he loves her before answering a question about “all the tears” in the house. James rolls his eyes (again) when Adam claims that he also gets a little emotional at times. “I just have a level head.” Oh boy. Exchange the word “level” with “empty” and I think you have a more accurate description.

Up next, Josh is asked about being up on the block with his best friend. “It’s really hard to campaign against such a great person as Sharon. We’ve been together from the beginning, and we know each other’s deepest, darkest secrets. It’s hard not to use it against each other, that’s for sure.” Sharon’s response is that she loves him, and not much more (as usual).

Oh god, we now get to meet Josh’s mother. Wait, she’s kind of cute for an old woman. You know the drill – we get the whole “I love him/he’s the life of the party” babble, and of course she’s never seen the kind of outbursts we’ve seen from him this year. After a clip of his rampage against Amanda (and her fine ass), she says she’s especially shocked by the language. “Sometimes when I’m watching him, I just want to wring his neck…I keep telling myself that that is his strategy.” We now get his life story, and how he played football and had girlfriends. One question – who is the guy next to her that gets out maybe three words the entire segment?

It’s now time to cover your ears, as we move up to the silly conversation with the HOH. Julie the crack journalist just has to begin with another round of questions about Matt. “When I look at Matt’s picture, I just think about all of the good times we had, and the memories that we shared together in this house.” Yeah, like when those great times when he’d hide from you?

Regarding Chelsia, there were a million ways Julie could have questioned Natalie, but instead she went for the softball. “How do you think Matt felt when he saw her walk through those doors?” “I think Matty was ECSTATIC to find her in the big brother sequester house.” Oh boy, she goes on to say that since he’s not her boyfriend, he can do whatever he wants, BUT “I trust him. She’ll probably try to do something with him to spite me, though. That’s the kind of girl she is, you know.” (I need a drink after hearing that drivel.) I can’t bear to listen to the rest of her garbage about Ryan and God.

Finally, it’s the moment of truth. Sharon gets to plead her case first, but all she says is that she is “thankful to be here…if it’s my time to go, it’s my time to go.” As you may imagine, Josh is a bit more prepared. “This is the most dysfunctional family on TV. Believe it or not, as much as I may hate you all I truly do care about you inside.” This goes on and on, and concludes with him saying he wants to stay.

Sheila begins the voting, and obviously votes to evict Joshuah. Ryan also goes for Josh, as does Adam. As expected, James is the lone vote to save him. Josh is evicted, but before leaving gives a self-serving lecture on being true to your self. Silly Sheila is near tears, but you know she’ll be bitching about it later. While we wait for his interview, everybody consoles Sharon.

In his interview with Julie, Josh rambles on about how it’s such a tough game (I think he says that at least 4 times), and how it’s clear that he was evicted because he’s the toughest competitors in the house. Oh yeah, and if he “would have stayed, he would have picked them off week by week.” Hmmm, I don’t think many would agree with that assessment.

OMG, let the self-serving platitudes end! Now he claims that he’s only mean when provoked, and that he likes to “stand up for others in the house. I only wanted to make sure other people were respected…and the only way I knew how unfortunately required screaming and getting in their face.” Oh boy. Julie doesn’t help matters by complimenting him on his “acting”. The goodbye messages are as you may expect, but I have to laugh at his reaction to Natalie’s “I still love you as my fellow brother of Jesus Christ” comment.

Finally, we move on to the HOH contest. Natalie’s bummed because it’s finally a quiz that has to do with numbers in the house! Bwahahahahahah! I can only imagine how she’ll later babble about how she would have answered every question correctly…and how Sheila didn’t understand the questions.

Everybody but Sheila(!) gets the first question right, and Ryan and Adam join her in getting the second question wrong. She does get a point on the third question, and Sharon takes the lead. Everybody gets the next question wrong, but they’re all correct on the fifth question. Sharon misses the sixth question, and it’s now a three-way tie between Sharon, James, and Adam. OMG, Adam gets the last question correct, and is the new HOH. Things don’t look good for James once again!

Joshuah Out! Adam is New HOH

Joshuah was evicted 3-1, James being the only vote to evict Sharon.

Adam won HOH on the last question in a competition Natalie would have been very good at. I say this now because it is a warning that you will hear about it all night long.

This also means Sheila is safe for another week. DAMMIT.

More Thoughts On Last Night's Episode

As I'm sitting here waiting for the eviction show, I thought I'd write some more thoughts about last night's episode. This may be shocking to hear from this curmudgeon, but last night's episode may have been the best crafted show they've ever shown.

For the first time ever, the entire episode told a story. Even the silly recap at the beginning actually fit the plot arc. We saw (again) Chelsia being evicted, Natalie winning HOH, and James and Josh being nominated. This set the stage for a story that revolved around James, and the mental and physical demands of being the person who is always in danger of being evicted.

Sure, there are some quibbles with the editing. James' initial confrontation with Sheila didn't show at all just how Sheila's refusal to drop the subject brought on the ensuing battle, and the back-and-forth between Sheila/Sharon and Josh/Natalie drastically needed to be paired down a bit. Yet, it all fit together to show us how a depressed and defeated James was renergized after his clash with Sheila; how his game play in the POV blew away everybody else that competed; how Josh "suddenly" decided to fight to stay in the house; and climaxed with James somewhat self-serving speech at the POV meeting that not only declared his frustration with constantly being the target but also called out others who have yet to contribute anything but whining and plotting.

They did all of this without resorting to the cheesy garbage that mars the majority of episodes. There were no "beebies". Josh didn't do his silly morning dances. Natalie didn't pray to God and Matty, or babble her most recent theories about whatever number has come to her head this week. They stuck to this week's game story, and I pray that this continues in the future.

Very Quiet Day Before The Show.

Only thing to note is Natalie making sure Sheila and Adam know that if it is a tie she will keep Joshuah.

So look for the vote to go 3-1 to evict him.

Tonight Ryan and Adam talked outside - they agree they can see no good reason to keep Joshuah in the house over Sharon. They say that if Sharon wins HoH she will nominated Sheila - and laugh a that because Sheila has been working so hard to be closer to Sharon.

So the vote will most likely be 3-1 to evict Joshua.

Every day I am stunned by a new showing of stupidity. Right now James, Adam, Sharon, and Sheila play the card game Bullshit.

Big Brother - Season 9, Episode 22 Recap

Welcome to episode two of the Natalie Show. If you have an adult beverage in front of you, why don’t you play a little drinking game while you’re watching (or, uh, reading, I guess). Take a sip whenever Natalie references Matt or God, or when Sheila mentions that she’s a single mother or says “think about it”.

You guys all know the drill. After the recap, we begin the show with the reactions to Natalie’s nominations of Joshuah and James. “These people are ridiculous,” complains James. “I took out one of their key players, and now every week it’s block, block, block, block. I believe this is my routine for the house. I must be nominated every week…or win HOH.”

Josh is still feeling confident. “This is definitely my first week on the block. I know that James is the real target, so all I have to do is keep it cool and I’ll be safe for another week.” Natalie confirms that James is the person she’s after. “My mission, and only mission, is to get James out of the house this week…I’ll send him to not only Chelsia, but to Matty.” (Take a drink, kids.)

James crashes on his bed, and Josh and Sharon escape to shave Josh’s legs (what?). Once again, James is lonely. “I’m pretty much on a distant island from everybody else. Having Chelsia around was definitely a key part of my survival in the house. Emotionally, it’s definitely taken a toll on me.”

Outside, Josh admits to Sharon that he’s scared, but Sharon gives him a pep talk that it’s really James that is the target. Ryan concurs. “If James doesn’t win (POV) tomorrow, you’re good.”

Meanwhile, Sheila of all people is giving James a pep talk in the sauna. “You’re going to win tomorrow. I know you are. I know you can go out and win this. You’re a strong player, James.” She goes on to tell him how he’s the best player in the house, which is exactly the opposite of what she’s been telling everybody else. James claims in the diary room that this pep talk “meant a lot to me.”

Unfortunately, she gives almost the exact same pep talk to Joshuah, which James overhears. “You have a lot more going for you, and a lot more power, than you think you do. I think you have the power to save yourself. If he wins, then we take a beating.”

Natalie attempts to jump in to ask about James’ whereabouts. “Who cares if he hears”, Sheila flippantly replies. “I don’t care.” Even Josh raises an eyebrow when she adds, “at this point it’s either going to happen, or not going to happen.” Maybe he’s as confused as I was by that silly statement.

James is listening in from the bedroom, and since he’s caught her in a “two-faced lie”, he comes out to confront her. “She tried to pump me up earlier in the day, and now she’s trying to rally the troops against me?” Everybody tries to shut her up as he walks into the kitchen area, but you can’t stop the Shedragon when she’s on a roll. “Do you know what? Blah blah blah.”

Playing it cool, James just casually mentions that he “just heard everything” as he grabs a glass. Sheila tries to explain that she was pumping Josh up because he was depressed about being on the block. “How should I feel?”

Wow, interesting editing here. When this happened, Sheila was a million times more annoying and back-tracking than she is here. James attempted to quiet her multiple times by telling her that he wasn’t mad, but none of that is shown here. All of a sudden, James and Adam are heading outside for a smoke, and Sheila walks away to tell Josh that she doesn’t care.

Again, James walks in on Sheila saying she wants him out, but this time he’s not as calm. Well, at first he is as he walks to his bed and pleads, “just stop”. But Shedragon can’t stop her babbling. “Win, lose, it don’t matter. I’m my own island in this house.”

Now Sheila heads outside and is suddenly all cocky about the incident with Ryan and Adam. “He heard everything, and I’m glad he heard it. You know why? ‘Cuz guess what? It’s true. The cats out of the bag and I’m sick that he’s still in this house…boo the hell who!” Adam then heads into the bedroom to report that “Sheila’s feeling better.” Good job, shit stirrer!

James gets up in his “tighty-blackies” to go confront Sheila, and Josh asks if he can go watch. Oh boy! “Sheila, I heard you feel better after everything.” “No, I don’t”, she lies. “You came to me today and told me ‘you got it’ and ‘I’ll look out for you’, and now you’re being a two-faced bitch!” Hehehehe! James’ gets angrier and angrier while Sheila continues to claim she’s never lied to him. OMG, these two are nuts!

We come back from commercials to the fallout from this confrontation. “The whole house wants me gone”, James complains to Sharon, Natalie, Ryan, and (a smiling) Josh, “but somehow the whole house brought me back. If you wanted me gone, then why didn’t you just kept me gone. But I’m listening to everybody going ‘we gotta get him out, we gotta get him out’.” Natalie claims to not have anything to do with it, as she had just walked in on the conversation. “It doesn’t matter”, replies James. “Guilty by association, right?” Good one, James. This goes on around and around, but basically James complains that he has “nobody to play with”.

Oooh, kids, it’s time to drink as Natalie brings up James’ eviction of Matt once again. But otherwise, this conversation is still worthless. For once, Adam’s the smart one, as he just pretends to read the Bible while lying in bed. Nice work, shit stirrer. Stir the pot, and then relax when it starts flying. I’m having a bit of a change of heart about this guy.

Oh wait, I talked too soon. Adam hears his name mentioned, and comes storming in to scream at James. “You’re right – nobody wants you in the house, bro!”

After everybody crashes, James wanders out to have something to drink, and Josh follows him out. They basically trash talk Sheila and Natalie for awhile, and James expresses frustration (again) that he has nobody to confide in. “She’s the ultimate two-faced player in the game”, Josh says to James. “There is no nice way to play Big Brother”, James whines (well, cries) in the diary room. “It just mentally takes a toll on you. This is the first time I’ve literally cried since my dad died.”

So we move on to choosing POV players. Natalie pulls houseguest choice, and picks Ryan. Josh gets Sheila, and James picks Sharon. Natalie then has to choose a host, and they pretend that there are more options than Adam. Well, I’m not sure whether Natalie understands this or not.

So the POV is all about numbers, and James is pissed because he’s “horrible with numbers”. It’s a question contest, and it’s a convoluted thing where it’s all about things in the yard, and players get to “stay” or “hold” based on the other’s guesses.

We start with how many letter blocks are in a cage, and James, Ryan, and Sheila fold on their guesses. Natalie gets the point, but Sharon and Josh are knocked out because they’re farthest away from the correct answer. The second question involves push pins (Ash?), and James and Sheila both fold. Ryan comes closest, and Natalie is out.

Question three revolves around a tub of lard (Sheila?), and James and Ryan folds, so Sheila gets the point. Josh finally notices a trend with James’ folding. The next question involves balls in a gumball machine. James now says he can tell when Ryan is nervous because he sweats. This time, James stays in, but Sheila and Ryan fold. If Ryan had stayed in, though, James would have been out.

We move on to a question about chain links, and Natalie guesses 900 from the sidelines. Sheila says there are 185 – hahahahaha. James stays in, but Sheila and Ryan both fold to give James another point (again, Ryan would have knocked James out if he had stayed in).

Josh is starting to get nervous. “It really, really, really sucks.” This question is about popcorn. Sheila looks confused. Ok, she always does. Sheila’s answers are getting worse every time, and she folds again “because I didn’t get the question”. James comes closest, and gets POV! “This is the third week in a row that Crazy James has the power of veto.”

Sharon races to console Josh, but he says he wants to be left alone. “I feel like it’s my own funeral I’m going to, and I just watched myself get put in the ground. The funeral’s over, and everybody has moved on. The game is done, and I’m over with.”

After commercials, we see James do a victory dance while Josh is in another room bawling. “There’s no way I can pull through this. I know that James will take himself off the block, and they’re going to put up Sharon. It’ll be Sharon the saint versus Josh the sinner. I’m done.” Sharon comes in to console him, to no avail.

Sharon goes into the storage room with Natalie to find out what she’s going to do, and Josh’s fears are confirmed. “I have to put you up, because I can’t put up anybody from my side. How many lives does this guy have?” At this point, Sharon realizes that she’s “the ultimate pawn”, and there’s nothing she can do. “Game over for me”, concedes Josh.

Ryan heads upstairs to chat with Natalie. “What do we have to do? I had that. Everything bad that could’ve happened, happened.” Oooh, more nine lives talk from Natalie. “Worst nightmare – no birthday present for Matty.” Drink up, everybody.

Josh makes Sharon cry by saying there’s no way he can campaign against Sharon. “I’m not going to run around like Chelsia. I love Sharon too much to do that.” Sheila plays mommy, and hugs each of them. (Why the constant selective editing with her?) “Take care of her”, he pleads to Sheila. “It’s going to get real nasty quick.”

Ok, enough of the tears. While Sheila continues to cheer up Sharon, the editing makes us believe that Josh has a revelation. “Wait a minute. Why should Sharon get to stay, and I have to go?” Suddenly, he’s a bit more chipper as he goes upstairs to talk to Natalie. As Sheila is telling Sharon that Josh is a good person, Josh is begging Natalie for “one more week”. Natalie promises to break the tie if he can get two votes.

Sheila is continuing to console Sharon as Josh works to get Ryan and James’ vote. “We can’t tell Sheila and Adam”, he warns James. Ok, enough of these interesting edits between Sheila/Sharon and Josh/Ryan/Natalie.

It’s now time for the veto meeting. I have to say that James does whatever he can to make these boring, obvious meetings a bit entertaining. James, of course, saves himself, but not before an interesting little speech. “Once again, collectively the house has tried to get me out, and once again, collectively, you failed. Every week I’m battling for my life, unlike other people in this house. I go out there and I realize if I don’t win, then I do go home. And I have prevailed. Whether I leave next week or not, I have had an experience that far surpasses any of you sitting here.”

His speech goes on as he tells Sheila that he wants her to compete, and prevail. “Even though I do immature acts in the house, I think the most mature thing I can do right now is tell you that you can put your mind to it and do it.” This goes on for a few more minutes before he’s finished, and as expected Natalie puts up Sharon. Finally!

I must say that I’m surprised by this episode. There really wasn’t as much Natalie as expected, and none of the April Fools Day jokes we saw on the live feeds. Plus, there were very few God, Matt, or “single mother” lines. I’m still sober! That’s not right!

It's Hard To Report On Nothing

I apologize for not posting much of anything these last couple of days, but absolutely nothing of interest has gone down. Whenever I tune it, it seems like I hear nothing but the same Sheila/Natalie conversations that I've heard for weeks. Showtime has little more than Josh and Sharon sleeping, and last night they were so hard up for entertainment they provided them with a deck of cards and water colors.

Really, it's already at the point that generally occurs during the last few days of the show, when there's only two people left biding their time for the finale. Ryan and Adam do absolutely nothing all day and night besides wander around from room to room too afraid to stand up to Sheila and Natalie. Sharon listens to Josh and James and reports what she hears to Sheila, and vice versa. Except for Sharon, none of those I already mentioned will even chat with James and Joshuah, so they now spend all of their time sleeping.

It's really a shame that everybody that seemed to have a personality has already been evicted. I don't just mean my girl Chelsia, either. (Hehehe.) Alex, Matt, Parker, and even psycho Allison would have at the very least been entertaining to watch. These seven are just dullards. At the same time, though, you have to give them credit for acknowledging that these people were all threats to win the whole thing, and acted accordingly. (Now if we could only get Ryan and Adam to realize that keeping Sheila is just prolonging their personal (and our viewing) nightmare.)

Of course, as I'm typing that things actually do heat up, as Joshuah challenged Sheila for her "bullshit". Reminiscent of her battle with James last week, she at first denied each of Josh's charges, then backtracked when confronted with the fact that everybody has said she was "campaigning". "They come to me, Joshuah." Oh, that makes it ok. When she finally realizes she can't win the argument, she cries out that he's "threatening" her and runs to the diary room.

The Tie Goes To Josh - For Now

Looks like some of the faithful are suffering BB burnout - not that a TON is going on, however there have been some developments.

Since James hasn't been doing squat to help save Joshuah, Joshuah appears to have taken things into his own hands. He took Natalie aside in the HoH room earlier today and promised her (swore on her bible actually) that he would not go after her if he stays in the house. Natalie has promised him that she will not vote him out if it is a tie.

Now this might all be hot air but Natalie apparently did tell Sheila that it might be in her best interest to keep Joshuah over Sharon - something that didn't make Sheila very happy (watch for her to continue to try to sway her back the other direction).

Natalie is also expecting a promise from James to make this happen. Then Joshuah will need to convince Ryan to keep him in.

Of course that means that Joshuah would almost have to go after Adam and Sheila if he were to win HoH - oh wait - he also promised to throw HoH if he stays - forgot about that.

Don't forget - POV show tonight - watch James blow away the house and save himself yet again.
