More Info On The Soulmate Twist!

From CBS.com:

"This season marks other BIG BROTHER firsts, including the first-ever all-single cast and the most Houseguests in BIG BROTHER history.

When this group of 16 singles enters the house, they will be told they are being matched up with their “soul mate,” a stranger who may prove to be their true love or their worst nightmare. Whether there is a love connection or not, once paired up, the Houseguests’ life in the game depends on their partner. They must strategize, plot and scheme together as a couple for a chance at the prize. These “lovebirds” will live together as a couple meaning they will sleep in the same bed, hold Head of Household as a couple, be nominated for eviction as a pair, and if the time comes, say their goodbyes together upon eviction."

Ugh! Besides the yuck factor of this twist, it seems obvious that we're looking at a shortened season. If they're evicted as couples, the show will be over in seven weeks.

My guess is that they will only be evicted as couples the first week or two. That or there will be specific criteria to be evicted as a couple and so it won't happen every week.

I am willing to give this twist some time to play out before I will judge it. Last years AP was not good becuase it led to so much speculation of producer interference.

Speculation? Hell - they screwed with it blatently. Did you ever hear the audio of Jessica saying that Eric was told he could not use the POV one week because there was not enough time to poll America? Check the info out here if you like:

By speculation I meant during the run of the show and just after it ended. To that point we didn't know details of diary room sessions and other stuff. The Jessica interview (props to Rob & Trevor) was the first piece of concrete evidence us viewers had that the producers were steering things in a direction. I recall lots of podcasts and blogs talking during the show that we never saw poll results and there was no way to verify the results. My basic point is I hope this season we can move past MOST of this stuff and what happens in the house is decided by what happens in the house free of external influences.

I think its great you linked to that interview for any returning BB fans that maybe were not aware of that interview post BB8. A juicy nugget for them to get them ready for BB9!

The couples evictions may last for more than a few weeks. A source on another site suggested some of those evicted would be re-entering the house.
