I called into the djnewstyleshow tonight just to say hi - but the question was posed to me - is this the worst season of Big Brother.
I'm not sure. It made me go back and remember how all of the other seasons have ended and frankly I think the last winner I was really excited about was Dr. Will on BB2.
What do you think? Is this the worst season or does it just seem really bad because it is the freshest in our minds? Is it because it took place in the spring instead of summer?
By the way, I am still very much looking forward to Big Brother 10.

Well, I will jump in with my thoughts.
I truly believe this is, without a doubt the worst season. There has been very little game play, and the HG's have zero personality, and even lower IQ's.
I had always thought that Amber from 8 was my most hated choice. This whole TC group have sunk lower than Amber.
My favorites from the past include, ED, Marvin, and I liked Jack the former FBI agent. I thought his intelligence was good.
Marvin was a HOOT! That guy could read the dictionary and have people laughing.
This cast in 9, is by far the worst! I have only had the feeds for this year and the previous 2. These guys have been horrible.
Just my opinion.

hmmmm...i guess you dont recall the crappy 1st season. Now that one, nearly sunk the Big Brother ship before it even set sail. It was awful.

It's really hard to believe that these people were actually CHOSEN this season. It seems more like a crowd of people were brought to the studio, and the first 16 idiots in the door got to play. Ugh. Bad bad season. But no matter how bad it is, it can't top Season 1. It's a huge surprise this show kept going after that first season. Geez.
Remember BB1 was more about the concept of locking people up in a house and seeing what happened. More the social experiment. Yes, it dragged at times, and Chicken George's planned revolt got the producer's attention. We saw strategy introduced with Dr Will (and the "secret" gay). My, how it's changed...
It's bad when Jun is made to look good as a winner...
But yes, I'll be prtty much tuning out after James goes... the remaining ones are like junior high school kids with the maturity and wit to match. About the only "drama" left is how will Nat handle rejection by Matt, as it's unlikely Nat can get ejected at this point (the boys certainly don't have the brains or balls to do it).
At this point I think I'm pulling for anyone but Natalie to win. Just because I can only imagine what's going on in her head, and how amazing she thinks shes been playing. Is it really bad of me for wanting her entire dream world to come crashing down around her when she either: gets evicted, OR leaves the house at the end of the game, Matty wants nothing to do with her, and she doesn't become some kind of instant celebrity.
And because, for whatever reason, there is so much pro natalie floating around the blogs, how can you not cheer against her?
I strongly believe that if she doesn't win HoH this week, Natalie will be put on the block. Everyone is waking up to her deficiencies in the game.
Now, this hurts me a little, but I have to be a good person and give her a little bit of credit. As delusional as she may be, at LEAST she knows that she probably would not get many votes from the jury.
Yeah, this season is pretty awful. Can't be as bad as the first season though where there was no game, it was just a long hang out in a house.
I pretty much gave up on this season though when they fucked over the listeners with the "mystery box" bullshit. Haven't watched any episodes since.
The season is not only the worst bb house it is the nastiest bunch of people i have ever seen on tv. I really hope that they get to see what the viewing people really thought of them. I hope bb will find some better people to put in the house. It used to be fun but these people are not fun just nasty talking and nasty acting both sexually and morally. Our of all the people in the house I believe James and Chelsia were the worst. They both have potty mouths and absoultly no morals at all. I will try bb10 but if the people are not a higher grade of folks I am done with bb.

I have honestly given up watching the damn show - - my last episode was when they voted James back in - and I keep up with the lack or drama and episodes from this website You make it so much less painless.

The first season was my favorite- only having young hot bods for ratings means brains and experience are missing in the show.

Worst season ever...hmmm...might still be too early to say that. I am curious to see how Team Christ eats there own so that could be fun but then again it may not be interesting at all. I would say after James gets booted this is the worst final five ever.
This season has had great/fun moments, Josh's tirad against Amanda, Nat's BJ so early in the season, Jen/Ryan In WC for such a short time and Parker catching them, Amanda/Allison's illness, Niel leaving, strip show/pool orgy, Alex/James return vote etc. .... So there has been lots stuff of interest going on.
Looking back I think the big problem with this season was the couples. Too many times, in getting rid of a player we didn't want we got rid of a player we did want at the same time. Parker & Allison played the game too hard too fast but things could have been better with them still in the house and Alex got suck down by Amanda and then "thrown under the bus" by BB vote.
The other thing I should mention is how boring the DR sessions have been this year. REALLY BAD! Remember Will, then Will/Boggie, Danielle and her horns, Ivette/Marcellas didn't have a shtick but they were funny with their comments. We are missing a lighter side to this house, its seems like its game on all the time.
The "twists" haven't worked out well either to add interest to the show. Jacob/Sharon voted out first, Jen/Ryan couple outed so quickly, viewers voting Alex back but BB guests picking James, Dick coming back but blocked on the feeds, and no banner planes this year.
I am hoping for a diverse group of people for BB10. Are they casting in more places this time? Seems like I see a lot of different cities posted looking for players, I hope that bodes well.
I can't compare it to other BB's from 1 to 7 because i didn't seen them but i've seen half the season of bb8 and i think bb9 is better.
It's unbelievable how evil dick won bb8 and how those people where afraid of some skinny tatooed guy who i could beat up any day or intimidate by words.
Some people compare the stupidity that is in bb9 with other season even bb8 come on people the only smart guy in the bb8 was evil dick the rest where like specially hand picked to be easy manipulated and afraid of anybody even they'r shadows.
So in comparison i think the people in bb9 are a bit more smart than the ppl in bb8 if you would put people like adam,sheila,joshuah,parker,ryan this are people that would target someone like evil dick all the time until he was gone even nattalie or matt but in BB8 they where afraid of him :)))) how stupid these people where is unbelievable more stupid than nattalie they just handed the money to dick for fear.
Dick could've been a great target for anyone you could make fun of his evil personality of his tattoes of his stupid stories and most of all anyone could've broken him by picking on his daughter this was his weakest point and no one pushed it that far from what i've seen.
What you think the ppl. from the bb9 house would've done about someone like evil dick ? they would fucking masacrate him someone like sheila with Evil as enemy's would've been EPIC(like ryan says).
So in comparison i think the ppl. from bb9 are smarter than the idiots from bb8 who where scared by they'r own shadows except Dick of course who bashed them for scheming but he did that whenever he wanted.
i agree with the last comment, this season was interesting at first. Natalie was very entertaining until matty left - now she's just crazy. i don't remember her saying anything about christ when she was strippin for matty. The final players makes me think of bb8 - how ridiculously boring and religious the house would have been if jameika, amber, zack, kail would have stuck around instead of danielle, dick, eric and jessica. that would have been a snooze fest. ug, i just don't know what i'll do when james gets sent home today.

This is all of the sudden if james leaves the show will be boring and lot's talk and comments about james leaving and the show sucks and now even you the starter of this blog but i don't think so.
There is a lot more backstabbing to go on and sheila offers more entertainement than james.
I think the producers want sheila to stay more than james.
If james was left alone with power and friends james would've been a guy that minded his own business and he wouldn't do any show for CBS at all so be happy that people like sheila stays because if she would've been gone you would not have anything to see than adam ryan and james be friends and natalie talk stupid things.
I'm sorry for james he doesn't win the money he was the worst case in the house being so poor i really hope for some good things to happen for him after he goes out maybe big brother gives him a place to stay or some work because he is really lost and 21 years old with porn in his history this kid really needs help and the most he needed that 500.000 $ but life isn't fair so i'm very sorry for james hope he get's lucky.

i don't think this the "worst" season, it just had to live up to the drama and fun of BB8. now i feel like BB1 was the least entertaining, but it was a completely different game then it is now.
it shows this season isnt that good cause CBS even has trouble making stories outside the main storyline of the bible troop. the editing of the CBS show has been hit or miss. plus the feeds are annoying. I really gave up on the feeds for the most part cause all they have done is watch sheila and nat (when more important things are going on). I just hope season 10 bounces back

I loved BB1 - the feeds were FREEE - HGs were not censored for singing or talking about people - events were not blocked on the feeds. As a matter of fact the only time the feeds were blocked for any long time was when they were contemplating walking out of the house.
Now the other question - why did I bring this up now. Because James is leaving? I guess in part - but when James leaves the biggest polarizing person in the house will be gone and I think it will become more boring. It isn't that I am a James fan and I am mad.

i can see evil dick but it's nothing curios or fascinating about james to watch his outbursts he's not smart at all in what he says he doesn't have a talent of manipulation look where he is now pretty much out of the game there is no hope for him.
I admire the smart people no matter if they are evil or good but in james case he is just an average guy with average skills it doesn't stand out like evil did in bb8 not just by bashing people but by game strategy also because if it was only bashing people and no brain it was out long ago.
this is DEFINATLY the worst season, but only for the fact that i know who i want to win wont.
my top 4 favorites were out the first 2 evictions (amanda/alex & jen/parker). after the couples split i enjoyed it WAYYY more & decided on james, chelsia & joshuah as my favorites. this week the last will be out & i have to lower my top ONCE again.

i have been thinking lately i want sheila to win because i dislike all 5 (besides james) but then i quickly realized that what STUPID. id love for ryan to win, so im DEFINATLY jumping on that bandwagon. i wouldnt even mind if boring sharon won either.

It might be the worst season simply because of the lack of redeemable personalities in the people that are left. There will NEVER be a personality that tops the awesome Dr. Will, who used just the right amounts of manipulation, deceit, and plain old fashioned charm. As far as this season goes, who really gives a crap about who wins? They were all ridiculous to begin with. And you know you aren't going to quit watching because you are all addicted to BB, just like the rest of us. If you weren't, you wouldn't be reading a blog about it.

Once James leaves this evening I will not be watching...unless they start to show the Jury house. Valid point, but I think the problem that most people have with that strategy is it's so obvious what's going to happen. As soon as you find out who wins HOH you can pretty much map out how the rest of the week is going to go. It's a lot more entertaining to watch when people make moves that rattle other house guests. It's fun to watch them scramble and try to revaluate their alliances and former and future moves. The only time this really happened was when Adam left James off the block. And instead of Nat and Ryan looking at their own game, and trying to figure out what the best move for them was, they just got pissed at Adam and then prayed and everything went right back to where it started.
Plus none of these people think about the game farther than the current week. They don't take any risks, which again makes for a really boring game.
It feels like watching a football game with no defense. Yeah, someones going to win but there is going to be no exciting plays because there is no opposition.
I'm excited to see the good people try and figure out who's feelings they want to hurt less when they have to evict one another.

I think people ask themselves every season if this is "the worst season ever". But, we all keep watching, so it couldn't have been that bad.

This season SUCKS!!!! James is the only one left who is every interesting to watch. After he leaves, you will probably shoot yourself from the boredom. The Showtime feeds are BORING!!!! At least last year there were things going one and more than two people in the house had personalities. Someone needs to give Natalie a serious wake up call. Sharon is a dullard and lets not start on Adam's hygiene. Of everyone left, of course after James leaves tonight, I guess I would like to see Ryan win, but he was certainly not my first choice. Hope BB10 is better or my BB days may be numbered. After James leaves, I may only be able to stomach the final show just to see which idiot wins!

I'm not a James "nuthugger," but he didn't really "blow" his chances of being in the house. He had to fight every week since his return, and he managed it FOR 3 STRAIGHT WEEKS. How long can the guy fight before he eventually has to lose? Give him more credit than that, people.
Of all of the people in the house, I am more capable of listening to James carry a conversation than anyone else. Sheila and Nat are always whispering, and it's really getting to me. Ryan is this dumb bro, even if he is a nice guy. Adam..well, I can barely catch most of what he's saying, even though I do like him. Sharon is...ugh, let's not get into her.
This season was a last minute thought, with the writer's strike. Everything was pretty much made up as the show went along. Even the competitions have been stale, maybe because there hasn't been that much prep time. Meh, it is what it is.
As usual, Ale captured my exact thoughts. I don't know what "nuthugger" even means, but saying that he's the most entertaining of this bunch does not mean that I think he's a crown jewel. He has worked the hardest, though, and I think he has done a great job in the past couple of days of making Sharon, Adam, and Sheila actually think about their end game.
For those who condemn James, I just have one question. Why is it so bad that he was able to return to the house when Sharon and Ryan got that same break?
Ryan is a likable guy, but he hasn't really played the game. He's just followed Natalie around. I've tried to like Natalie - honestly, I have - but her hypocrisy, constant whispers of the same tired theories, and her beliefs in numbers and dreams drive me batty. Not to mention that kiddy voice she puts on whenever she's in the diary room.
My hatred of Sheila has lessened in recent days. The fact that her and Adam have actually had conversations with the "evil doer" show me that they're much more level-headed than Natalie. I just hope that both of them actually think about the info James has provided.
IF this is the worst season ever its because of the cast. For review:
Jacob, just dumb for trying to stir up crap first week.
Parker, played this game too hard (and angry) too fast and that got him booted.
Jen, couldn't keep her mouth shut with any secret and was doomed for it.
Neil, left the game.
Amanda, again stirring the pot too much and got called out on it. Too much to quick.
Alex, was sunk by Amanda and didn't fight to stay in the house when nominated.
Allison, again played too hard too quick with too many lies to be trusted.
James voted out, got a second chance and screwed his game play for romance with Chelsia. He screwed himself into isolation and now eviction.
Matt got screwed in a way with James coming back but again he was too bold with his game and put a target on his back.
Chelsia put a huge target on her back for her relationship with James and she paid for it.
Josh, his intimidation style with the women got him voted out aswell as his siding with J&C.
Sharon, has been laying low all game and I fear she will never step up to win this game. Stop throwing comps NOW!
Shelia talks so much crap on everyone this will eventually catch up to her and she can't win a comp to save her life.
Adam has played with his balls so much I don't think they are there anymore, does he have any balls to play this game hard to the end?
Natalie, not a smart girl and is only here because she has been on the side of the house with the numbers.
Ryan, voted out once already, got a second chance and played the fence long enough to be able to get onto the winning side of the house.
My reason for writing all this is to point out we have not had great game play by anyone this year. I am hoping Ryan will win because he has played the best when he has been playing single but again he is doing this on his second chance.

Outside of your assessment of Ryan, who I believe has for the most part just rode on Natalie's coattails, I think you're pretty spot on.
The part that has made this season so predictable was the people who have won HOH. There was a stretch of crtical weeks after James won HOH (after being let back in) where TC kept winning. TC would try to get James out, he keeps winning POV and "the evil doers" got picked off one by one. If at some point, "the evil ones" could've taken a HOH, this season would've been radically different.
I don't think Ryan is riding Nats coattail.I think he is playing smart.Seems like he is good no matter who wins HoH,maybe Sheila would put him up.Even when Adam found out he made a deal with James he wasn't even really that mad.But Nat is the scum of the earth for supposedly making a deal with the girls.Even though she came and told them everything that was said,just like she did with the James deals.Ryan on the other hand has been making deals left and right and getting away with it.
Even when he back doored James,they were more angry at Nat and Matt than they were with him, why is that? When he was the one that put James up in the first place.

I hate any year where the house gets divided into two distinct teams. It means that you only have to watch about fifteen minutes of BB each week (the HOH comp) to know what's going to happen.
In years when the house gets divided in two, there is only one way to win the game - be seen as the weakest person on your side and hope that your side wins often enough that you're the last one standing.
To me... just not really interesting game play.
I like years where people have to scheme and plan to win. Dr. Will. Jason and Daniel (even if they didn't end up winning). Even Jun's strategy was... Well, at least a strategy that said more than... my team won HOH more often than your team and I'm a complete loser so no one is going to think to kick me out.
Oh, and as for not watching this year... Well, for the past few weeks, I haven't been watching - except for said fifteen minutes or so each week to see who wins HOH. The rest of my information about the show has been coming from this website. I'm just not interested enough to waste even three hours a week watching, which is quite a change since I've been watching BB since the first episode of season one.

For start i want to say all the people except Adam are pretty stupid in bb9 and hand picked that way they have to be easy manipulated by the DR and this will always be the case in next big brothers pick people that can be manipulated.
Adam somehow tricked them with the interview if you watch the interview Adam comes out as a guy that hits regularly on women and he might be a source of fights he said in his interview that will blow anyone who has anything with him but he is not that guy.
For the women part seeing him a bit ugly they thought he has some insecurities and that was the sweet spot they thought they can manipulate him but until the james part adam was never manipulated by the DR and he will never be after he said he got conned with the DR so this player is not stupid and CBS doesn't like it he stole several HOH's that where for nattalie and who knows who they wanted them for and now he evicts james.
Ryan is easily manipulated stupid as hell and lucky that he got this far BUT he did stayed under the radar and his strategy stupid or not got him here he made friends and at one point he could've gone with the bad alliace (joushuah) and he did right by not accepting it look where he is now so he did some good moves.
James is credited for very wrong reasons he got himself evicted once and got back because natt was stupid and voted wrong then when he got back in the house he should've stayed low maybe even trow that HOH and let nattalie win and putt josh up then he could've made an alliance with matt who was open for discussions with him possibilities where endnlles but being a kidd he tought he can win everyting and of course he didn't.
Major mistakes on his part was not making more friends he didn't worked at all making friends or aligne to an alliance he just accepted what was coming to him and sticked to that.
And the how smart it is i would put him a bit smarter than nattalie and sheila look at the last POV he couldn't count and remember weeks ryan and adam done admirably but james was so slow and wrong it's just at the bottom in this category with nattalie and sheila the POV proved it and an IQ test would prove it :).
Sheila started very bad fighting with adam almost evicted but she started to learn as she progressed trough the game and she has the life smarts the manipulation got her here and she stays at adams good side because she knows adam could get her in the final 2 again very smart picking the stronger smarter MALE :) to provide for her so for now if you take her shity personality she plays the game very good.She always influenced the house thinking of her safety along the way and played both sides all the time left personal issues aside and kept enemys like joshuah close to her or james depsite them hating her like hell and her hating them even more she still talked to them and my god she lies so much it's unbereable but still she manipulated them and still flips the house how she wants so you have to admire her.
I don't see natalie winning this game as long as sheila is around unless someone takes pitty on her like adam or ryan the takes her in the finals or if she wins some critical HOH i don't know she is stupid uses god in the very wrong way like most BB players do (please god make me win HOH please gog make xxxx leave .... why don't she prays god give her the grand prize and be done with it using god like that never works ppl. if you are a believer don't ask for anything more than health for you and family but MONEY ? come on typical big brother players).
I can't stress this out in every big brother there is always some idiot girl that takes god in every fight god helps her kill the enemy god helps her win HOH the GOD thing is taken in favorbale situation to her or him but not for the enemy the enemy was helped by the devil or what ? and since when it's okay to ask god for things like that ? i thought god can't be used to ask for money because if you pray you want to win everything you basically pray for winning the money so i consider this people the most unfaithfull people in god they do the most sins with this.
Sharon is of course boring not stupid but in a bad position here because she comes from the broken alliance she is next on the eviction list and if not now or next week or the next week eventually whe will be evicted i don't see her winning she doesn't have the willpower isn't liked by CBS as a possible winner because of the boring personality and i just don't see her even in the finals.
I hope to see adam win the only man smart there.
