Feeds Return - Sharon Gone

Sharon was evicted as we expected.

Ryan won Part I.

Adam and Sheila will compete in Part II today.

The feeds came back shortly after 10pm - I went to bed @ 10pm - go figure!

I am glad they are back, but mad that they blacked out the competition - what was the sense in that?

Keep in mind, CBS is a Television Broadcasting company that makes most of it's revenue, at this time, by pulling viewers to the tube. BB fans are going to have to tune in to see how things went down. Frankly, I'm surprised CBS has allowed so many YouTube clips to be posted and put so much of previous competitions on the feeds. Granted, this has been a very boring feed/Showtime season, but let's keep in mind. BB is a conduit to selling advertising and creating revenue for CBS.

It really makes no sense I would have actually preferred them to just keep the feeds off till tonight if they weren't going to let us watch the comp

I am split on this whole thing. For you guys paying for the feeds you should see everything but at the same time this is a TV show not a internet show so CBS should hold back things. We have gotten used to not seeing certian things and I think we can all live with that for the most part.

I am OK with not seeing the Veto Cer and Eviction Cer since we never see those anyway. We usually see th endurance comps and for live feed viewers that is a big selling point, the net goes crazy those nights. But to block this endurance comp and then bring back the feeds had no purpose. We know who is evicted now and we know who won the first partof HOH what was the point of blocking it now? For a live feed viewer I think you should be mad and fustrated, because nothing was accomplished. I think you might have been madder if the feeds were blocked for 48 hours but no one would have missed Tues/Wed show for sure.

These things are out of our hands, we just have to live with it.

If it were not for the internet viewers BB would not still be on the air in my opinion.

The logic that more people will watch the show since they blocked the feeds is not true in my opinion... those that watch the feeds watch even though they know the outcome and those that don't watch the feeds will still generally still watch.

What this does is make BB's biggest fans all the more cynical towards the show's producers.

I know that's how big entertainment companies think, but it's not the reality. Does HBO lose boxing viewers because everybody knows what happened when it was on PPV? No. Does MTV lose VMA viewers due to reports of what happened at the taping? No. Their ratings actually have a spike because of the publicity.

Anybody with the internet feeds is going to watch anyway. If/when something exciting happens, the promotion the show gets from sites like this actually bring in more viewers.

do we know if they are going to pull the same BBAD stunt tonight??

I agree with Scott. It's the feeds providing info to sites like this that boost BB interest. Does it 2 ways:

1) Since we follow the action on this site and the IloveReality site, we're constantly aware of the show, talking about it. It is remembered, and we watch.

2) How much we make an effort to watch is based on what is going on, in real time. If it's really interesting, like backdooring Natalie, or could James make it another week, we try harder to watch, and mention to others. When it's completely scripted, with the only drama being will Sheila use a white or yellow towel to dry plates, well, maybe we have a goldfish to walk...

The point is, all the YouTube clips, feeds, and sites are ADVERTISING for the show. Adverts that cost NOTHING, in fact, the feeds generate some revenue. People are paying to advertise your show.

So cutting off the feeds during the events and then showing the results (which you find out because, say, Sharon is gone) doesn't seem to be very smart or profitable in the long run.

By the way, unless he gets voted out, looks like Adam will walk away the winner.

Clarification on Item 1. By "we" I mean my family. Your sites may differ.

I think Adam will win against Sheila - but against Ryan I think it is getting closer. Ryan has come on pretty strong at the end and won some big competitions.
